My thought was more that when it comes to design it should be the responsibility of the designers to bring the topic and follow through, instead of waiting for companies to ask for it.

Definitely not an easy job though, that’s why maybe some dedicated tools, or integrating the question within the default process would be the easiest.

Another way could be for designers to demonstrate the business value in the long run of not harming users and the planet.
